My Story

arondaleI learn the latest and greatest emerging technologies. I attend summits. I am mentored and mentor. I’m a closer. I pitch UX concepts and get contracts signed. I find rare talent and dare to dream big. I challenge the Art of Possible. I help bring science fiction into reality. I’m passionate about all these things, but also make it a point to enjoy life. I travel the world both in business and in pleasure. Soon I will have (2) business visas in Europe and Asia. I am love the Atlanta, GA community and have a great deal of pride in my country and my work. I studied HCI from Mercer University, but I have learned from some of the very best in UX and science. Emerging Technologies, including but not limited to AR/VR, mixed reality, machine learning, AI, robotics, 3D printing, and drones (points clouds, lidar, and photogrammetry).  From NLP and conversational AI mapped to Gas Turbines to next generation travel experiences, I dabble in a lot these days. I work in Banking, Aerospace, eCommerce, Oil & Gas, Power, and large scale applications. In my previous career history I have also worked on UX Architecture & Design Strategy for Apple Rewards store, eCommerce and Travel portals used by over 3000 banks, integrated with over (40) merchants, used by nearly 700,000,000 users! I author UX articles about a multitude of subjects, including IIoT, IoT, emerging front-end technologies, design, mobile experience, connected experiences, and UX design patterns. Additionally I’ve built and manage a 16,000+ member UX LinkedIn community!

Growing up I learned mechanical engineering from my father, a mechanical engineer who retired from Delta Air Lines. His hobby was and still is, Hot Rods. I was not allowed to drive until I built my first engine. My dad helped me, of course. I started when I was 14… about the same year I got my first computer (an Amiga 500). (3) years later I would finish the engine… a 351W, dropped into 1965 GT Mustang. My dad taught me several important life lessons. He taught me I would appreciate something I spent blood, sweat, and tears to building. Mountains more than something merely given to me.  I can still recall my dad squirting gas into the carburetor and asking me to “try it”.  The first time you hear a 400HP engine rumble, knowing you put it together and hoisted it into the engine bay… let’s just say I could have been equally successful in life being a custom builder of hot rods and exotics. It’s pure magic and adrenaline! Now I drive a 600hp twin turbo.

A beautifully built solution should simplify life, bring value, and woooo the mind (or allow you to do something incredibly complicate with little thought whatsoever). I

At Mercer University I graduated with a BBA in CIS, with formal education in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Visual Communication, Economics, and Mathematics.  Right as I was graduating from college I won $20,000 (1st Place Overall) out of 1600+ contestants in a Georgia statewide website competition. I was fortunate enough to be published in magazines, newspapers, and televised on Channel 2 Action News “Top Story”. Word got out to a young entrepreneur named Rob White at MedCenterDirect. Assisting Rob, I created Flash presentations and we pitched the MedCenterDirect eProcurement concept to investors. Over three rounds of venture capital, we raised over $35 Million. We took Rob’s basement operations to build a company with over 200 employees, earning over $2.4B in revenue in just under (3) years.

I’ve become a subject matter expert in many things in my lifetime and the momentum keeps growing. If you like to think big, enjoy life, covent free time, love horsepower, and ponder while you have not created your own incubator, like HBO’s Silicon Valley, give me a call.
